Start with what you want the room to keep

For your Ivywild painting estimate, identify existing woodwork, doors and other finishes you want retained before choosing a wall color. Include photographs that show the room as a whole, not only the paint swatch or worn spot. The surrounding details influence the appearance of the finished space.

Then list the walls, ceilings, door faces and trim runs you want painted. If a hallway connects to another room, define the transition. A proposal for walls alone is different from one that includes trim and doors, so make those boundaries clear before comparing prices.

Show scuffs, earlier patches and texture changes. Discuss cleaning, surface preparation, agreed repairs and primer where applicable before reviewing the finish color and sheen. Our color and finish guide helps you organize the appearance decisions.

Give the details their own place in the scope

Room walls

Specify which walls are included and where a color will stop. Discuss the condition of the existing finish and any patch or texture areas.

Interior painting

Painted trim

Name baseboards, window trim and other runs to be reviewed. Keep their preparation and finish products distinct from the wall work.

Trim painting

Doors

Identify the door faces and surrounding trim involved. Say which hardware and adjacent finishes will be retained and protected.

Door painting

Exterior details

List siding or stucco, fascia, trim and doors separately. Include fixed materials and wood finishes that will remain unchanged when selecting the exterior palette.

Confirm retained areas and preparation in writing

At the walkthrough, show both the surfaces being painted and those outside the scope. Discuss protection of floors, furnishings, woodwork, hardware and adjoining finishes. Agree on moving responsibilities and access before work begins, especially in rooms you continue to use.

Compare proposals using the same surface list, preparation, agreed repairs, primer and finish products, protection measures and exclusions. Review the palette across connected rooms or exterior materials, confirm any applicable property approvals, and define the schedule against the agreed work.

Our estimate guide and preparation guide explain the details to review before approving a project.

Ivywild painting questions

How do I start an Ivywild painting request?

Send your exact address, photographs and two lists: surfaces to repaint and finishes to retain. We will follow up to discuss the project and next steps.

Can some woodwork be left unchanged?

Identify those surfaces at the walkthrough. The written scope should define retained areas and their protection alongside the painting work.

Are doors and trim part of wall painting?

Only if included in the agreed scope. Name the door faces and trim runs you want reviewed so the estimate is clear.

Are the interior photographs from Ivywild?

They are genuine Carroll interior project photographs from the Colorado Springs region. We have not verified the address as Ivywild, and the tile work was not ours.
