The surfaces included
Walk through each area together. Identify baseboards, door frames, window frames, crown molding, fascia or other details individually. Clarify whether doors, windows themselves, closets and adjacent walls are part of the work.
Preparation and repair
Point out loose coatings, dents, open seams and previous patching. Ask what cleaning, surface preparation, filling or priming is proposed. Damaged material may need separate repair or replacement rather than another coat.
Color and sheen
View samples beside the finishes that will remain. A bright white trim can read differently next to warm walls or stone; a stronger sheen can make texture more noticeable. The best choice depends on the room or exterior as a whole.
Protection and daily use
Discuss nearby glass, floors, walls and landscaping, plus access around doors and windows. Confirm the drying and care instructions for the selected coating before returning freshly painted surfaces to normal use.
