A whole-home plan still needs clear room boundaries.
An interior proposal in Colorado Springs distinguished the main painting scope, optional basement rooms and replacement bedroom doors.
Adapted from an actual Carroll Painting proposal. Names, addresses and prices are omitted. This account explains proposed work, not a completed project or a homeowner testimonial.
The starting point
Whole interior came with specific exceptions.
The main painting entry described the whole interior except for basement bedrooms and bathrooms. It identified walls and ceilings, along with four doors and frames.
That exception matters. A broad project description can sound comprehensive, but the named room and surface boundaries explain what the proposed work actually covers.
The documented options
Keep optional rooms and replacement doors visible.
Basement bedrooms and a bathroom appeared as an optional addition for walls and ceilings. The estimate explicitly stated that optional items were not included in the total.
A separate entry proposed ordering and installing two replacement main-bedroom doors. It described an allowance for the doors, an adjustment if the purchase cost exceeded the stated threshold, and providing the homeowner with the purchase receipt.
The replacement entry and the painting entry were distinct parts of the proposal. Details such as door fit, hardware and finishing should be confirmed in the agreed scope rather than assumed from the word replacement.
The Carroll approach
Make the boundaries easy to review.
The proposal brought three decisions into view: which rooms were in the main scope, whether to add basement painting, and how the replacement-door purchase would be handled.
It also described protecting floors and furniture, preparing surfaces and daily cleanup. A final walkthrough and any needed touch-ups were proposed parts of the process; this account does not claim they have already happened.
A useful estimate lets a homeowner review exclusions alongside inclusions. That makes it easier to select the work they want and discuss changes before scheduling.
