Was the Office Included? Clarifying an Interior Painting Estimate
Before proceeding, a homeowner asked one specific question: did the interior painting total include the office? Peter’s answer made the room boundary clear.
From an actual Carroll Painting estimate and homeowner conversation. Client identities, exact addresses and prices are omitted.
The office was not included in the earlier amount discussed in the conversation. Peter acknowledged that and explained that adding it would change the total. The current proposal separately specified primer on all newly textured walls.

The homeowner’s question
A room name can be more useful than a broad project label.
In this Colorado Springs 80908 exchange, the homeowner liked the estimate and wanted to proceed, but first asked whether the office had been included or left out.
Peter replied that it had not been included in that number and described the resulting change to the estimate if added. The exchange gave the homeowner a direct answer before moving ahead, instead of leaving the room list to interpretation.
The surface clarification
New texture had its own preparation requirement.
The current proposal includes a specific instruction to prime all newly textured walls. Its interior preparation plan also covers protecting floors and furniture, filling cracks and nail holes as needed, and priming raw materials to be painted.
The room-inclusion conversation and the texture specification answer different questions: where will work happen, and what preparation will those surfaces receive? Both belong in a useful written plan.
The lesson for an interior estimate
Review rooms and surface preparation before approval.
Write down every room you expect to be painted, including an office, closet or adjoining space that might be easy to overlook. Then ask whether newly repaired or textured areas have their preparation explicitly included.
This story does not reconstruct an unrecorded final room list or claim a completed repaint. The accepted estimate and conversation show how a scope question was addressed, while the photo below provides context from the same broader project.

Questions this example answers
Before your own walkthrough.
Was the office included in the earlier amount?
Peter said it was not and explained that adding it would change the total. That clarification came before the homeowner proceeded.
Did the proposal name primer on new texture?
Yes. The Specifics and Clarifications entry said to apply primer to all newly textured walls.
Does the photo show the office?
No. It is a bathroom photo attached to the same interior estimate. It provides project context and is not proof of the office’s inclusion or a completed painting result.
