The existing surfaces

The drawings were part of the preparation discussion.

The photos attached to this Colorado Springs 80923 estimate show decorated walls and doors. The proposed repaint therefore included more than choosing a replacement wall color.

The preparation entry called for primer over all artwork and stains, with a second primer coat if necessary. It also specified priming raw materials that would be painted. These were written preparation steps for this home, not evidence of a finished coating.

The scope exception

Walls only still needed a room-specific clarification.

The proposal’s heading identified walls-only work, except for the bedroom with artwork on its doors and trim. That exception matters because a wall-painting request does not automatically include every door, frame or baseboard.

The finish entry described two wall-paint coats. The photographs help explain why the estimate separately addressed the existing artwork and staining rather than treating a new color as the entire job.

Applying the lesson to your rooms

Show the painter the marks you want covered.

At a walkthrough, point out artwork, stains and decorated trim or doors. Ask which preparation is included, which surfaces will receive it, and what the plan is if another coat becomes necessary.

The record contains an accepted estimate, but the attached images are planning photos. They are used here to show the starting surfaces, not to claim that every mark disappeared or that the repaint was completed.
